RoyalKev's On Blast! - An Overview: The Substantiation of Beyonce's "4" Album

Billboard's tally of the charting weeks to establish the best selling albums of 2011 has officially ended the last week of November.  Beyonce's album, "4", failed to find a slot inside the top 10 on the top selling 200 Albums chart, however, it secured a place at #21 for the year (worldwide the album obtained a position at #10).  It is also the 7th best selling album on the R&B/Hip Hop albums chart. What needs to be noted here is that since June 28th, "4" has been available for purchase in the U.S. and it has a total of 5 months that have been tabulated into it's overall ranking.

Beyonce's "4" album and era have been completely torn apart and dissected all over the net and in the media countless times.  Why?  It's not very clear when there's an array of artists that flooded the music scene.  Yet, Beyonce's album was the focal point for both her supporters and those that discredit her.

From predictions of the album's debut week's sum, to the mentions of the rate it was selling at, general information on 4's performance wasn't obsure to say the least.  Honestly, do you remember Adele's opening frame for "21" or the moment Lady Gaga went platinum with "Born This Way"?  Perhaps, many of you don't.  Still, every blogger from Perez Hilton to media mogul Wendy Williams has weighed in on Ms. Knowles fourth outing.  Many of her fans believe that Beyonce is being used by her most scornful nay-sayers' as their personal dart board this year.

Check out pop royalty, Janet Jackson dressed in all black while covered from head to toe, taking a trip to the OB-GYN clinic in Beverly Hills, California. Oddly enough Ms. Jackson bumped into a Kardashian sister upon entering the doctor's office. Take a look below at the images of Miss Rhythm Nation herself and video here (courtesy of x17).

Christmas Poll (Year End Wrap Up - 2011)

Merry Christmas everyone from all of us at "The Page" (Melinda, Minkz and RoyalKev)! :) On the eve of our return to kick off 2012 in a big way, we pieced together a listing of the results of our survey of the Best Music in 2011. A total of 48 voters were polled. Everyone asked, included several music insiders (from NYC DJ's, to studio engineers, record label staff and 2 executives). Of course we added our own 2 cents as well as quizzed our peers. This was all done just in time for Christmas, so take a moment to peruse the raw and honest opinions of what "the people" thought was a standout and not some standard manufactured list of what only made Top 20 radio.

Report Card: Blogs in the Music World

January marks the 1 year anniversary of "The Page". It certainly doesn't feel as if it's been that long. We've gain alot of respect for those media informants that have done this much longer and that have inspired us to develop something of the sort, however; distinctive in representing our own unique creation. Although we're fans of many sites indivually like so many of you (RoyalKev/TGJ, Minkz Furr/Lava, Melinda Warren/Necole Bitchie) we spared no one's feelings in determining what each of our strengths and weaknesses were.

We have all decided to 'weigh in' honestly on each blog on our version of Report Card Day to see how we measure up to these titans (btw, has your blog been coming across a bit more philosophical this year? - how you doin' - j/k) and to find out how - the people at large honestly view us (the blogs),  so that perhaps we
may all see something in this that allows us to grow as we continue to expand and push forward.

By all means, we do this with good intentions, so hopefully there won't be no hard feelings. We are being frank about everyone's shortcomings(even our own). We graded each blog A- F on the following catergories: Originality, Prompt Posting, Informative/Enlightening blogging, Creative/Innovative blogging, Objective Journalism, Personal Style/Approach, Research/Accuracy, Entertaining/Engagement factor and Overall Quality.  Let us began:
