New Music: Chris Brown - I Don't Like (Addressing Drake)

... It's about to get ugly.  It looks like Chris is doing what he does best, he's taking some of his frustrations out in the recording booth.  Of course, Drake could easily become the topic at hand after the fiasco that took place during their last meeting.  Chris Brown just added a verse on the remix to Chief Keef's song titled, 'I Don't Like', which definitely have a few cheap shots taken at Drake.  Chris is going in! Check out the lyrics and the song below:

“A fuck ni**a, that’s that shit I don’t like/ They throwin’ bottles, I’m throwin’ models just ’cause I give a bitch long pipe. I be singin’, he be singin’, so it’s on, fight/ But hold up, I ain’t give a ni**a no green light/ This head up, my bread up, one on one, what you scared, bruh?/ Matter fact, take care bruh, you a pu**y ni**a/ My ni**a Tunechi, yeah that ni**a nice/ Shout out to Nicki, man, that ass tight/ Them eyebrows, man, them shits is yikes/ OVO, you overdosed, screamin’ YOLO no, I live twice.”

Visual Talk: What's in Your Favorite Music Artist's DNA

The Page with RoyalKev is excited to introduce the latest feature to the blog, Visual Talk.  This addition is primarily set to post on weekends.  It's a perspective from a blogger written in the context of one's personal take on hot topics and various issues (from music to film and multiple forms of entertainment).

So many popular artists today credit established musicians from past decades for serving as their mentor or idol.  Ideally when you admire an entertainer you study their work and you're inspired by them on some creative level.  Most of today's artists have given these pioneers their well-deserved acknowledgement for being a part of the cultivation of their own style and artistry. In some cases it's easily perceivable to identify which ties exist between a flock of past performers and their predessors.  These artists usually embody a number of similar attributes that group them together and almost make them a part of the same family line, if you will.

Sometimes it's unfornate when the coalition between certain artists isn't recognized.  People may not want to be in the shadows of a particular individual, but find it beneficial to force upon us their union with someone they have less in common with.  Artists build an association for some kind of gain (whether it be respect or acceptance), while a more fitting comparison is downplayed.  Just a notion advertised to the general public may allow new artists to make an impression that would position themselves to be seen as the forthcoming version of an revered icon.  Still, this is not just done by the media or the artists themselves, it's sometimes the general public that habitually claims an icon's influenence is present in a performer that may not even have a common thread with the entertainer.

Let's alleviate all the confusion and pair the right artists together; perhaps, some individuals should not feel obligated to pay homage to the wrong people.  Let's clarify something, we all have the understanding that any successful artist from yesteryear has paved the way for the newer generations, but we're going to pin artists together that are actually alike. There's often more than just one direct match, so we're listing a major (the person that has the strongest resemblance) and minor (the 2nd match that would fit)  in each "subject" (artists).

1. Beyonce is one of those artist you'll find (for whatever reason) has been tossed around in so many different hats and expected to show her gratitude to a host of artists for everything she's become. She's spoke of her admiration for MJ, Prince, Etta James and Diana Ross.  She's been linked to a few names (Donna Summer, Janet Jackson and Whitney Houston).  Let's find the most sensible conclusion.

The Page Concludes: Beyonce ----> Tina Turner (Major), Beyonce ----> Michael Jackson (Minor)

Chris Brown & Drake Offered 1 Million Bucks For Boxing Match

The Chris Brown and Drake spectacle at a New York nightclub has everyone talking.  Tensions were definitely runing high  that night and after the dust clear not much of anything was settled. Now both men have been offered the chance to duke it out in the name of charity. The New York Daily News reports that a billionaire soda bottling heir has offered each artist $1 million for charity if they fight it out in a pay-per-view event in Las Vegas or Los Angeles in August.

"Obviously they have a grudge. It's just three 1-minute rounds. No one will get seriously hurt," Celebrity Boxing promoter Damon Feldman told the publication.

Brown and Drake, who apparently spurred over long-standing tension over fellow singer Rihanna, were both left relatively uninjured from the scuffle (Brown tweeted a gash on his chin but later deleted the photo), but apparently they were the lucky ones: Brown's bodyguard was sent to the hospital with cuts to his head, while an Australian bystander incurred a laceration that required 16 stitches.

Beyonce Speaks About Michael Jackson's Influence On Her

Beyonce shared a few words on her idol, Michael Jackson 3 years after his death via  It's always interesting to see an artists of Beyonce's caliber describe the lasting impression that a true iconic legend in music has left on her.  Take a look at the statement Ms. Knowles posted on MJ in her own words.

When I was just starting out, my first producer used to make me listen to Michael Jackson’s live performance of ‘Who’s LovingYou’. He would have me watch that for hours back to back to back.
What he wanted me to learn was his soul. You could hear his soul. And he was this little kid who hadn’t experienced love but he was a vessel. For whatever reason he could evoke more emotion than an adult. It was so raw and so pure. It was these little things that he did that were just swag. It’s something that’s God given.
Michael taught me that sometimes you have to forget technique, forget what you have on. If you feel silly, you have to go from the gut just let it go.
Michael Jackson changed me, and helped me to become the artist i am — thank you Michael.
Love always,
